Partners newsletter Summer 2010

Welcome to the Summer edition of Nelson Croom’s Partners’ e-Newsletter.

It’s been a good year for our partners, with sales of our accounting and finance courses up 50% on previous years. Feedback on our courses continues to be fantastic too, with over 95% of respondents saying that our courses met their CPD requirements, and over 93% rating the course and course content as good or excellent. We’ve listened to learners and in response we’re creating printable course notes which will be available at the end of every module. These will be available later this year, so watch this space.

If you need any tips on making the most of your CPD offering, Alan is speaking with David Fitzgerald from CPA Ireland, one of our most successful partners, at the MemNet Conference in September. More details below. Also in this newsletter: get more out of Imago with our new ‘how to’ guides, find out about an exciting new initiative - accountingcpd.net, and read about more new courses.

If you have any questions or comments about the newsletter, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

CPD and how to generate funds from it

On the 13th September Alan will be speaking at the MemNet Conference about how to create an income stream from CPD. He will be speaking with David Fitzgerald from CPA Ireland. CPA Ireland was our first Accounting and Finance partner back in 2004. In the last two years, sales of their courses have grown by 300% and now represent a significant source of income for them.

For CPA Ireland the most important thing is providing members, who may not be able to travel to face to face events, with the opportunity to complete their CPE in a high quality manner. A significant number of CPE hours are now completed online.

If you want to hear Alan and David speak, MemNet have agreed to offer Nelson Croom partners and clients’ a special offer on tickets of £140 (that’s a saving of £60). To qualify for the offer, use this form.

How to guides launched

New to the Nelson Croom Partners' Area are three ‘How To’ guides, written to give you more understanding of our technology, Imago, and to help you and your learners with common questions. The first three guides cover:How to manage access screenshot

•   How to manage access

•   How to work with feedback

•   How to get the most out of questionnaires

These are quick reference documents that we hope you will find really useful. We will be producing more of these in the future, so if there is a topic you would particularly like to see a ‘How To’ guide on, then just let us know.

Focus on ... 3 New Courses
Managerial Megatrends Screenshot
Managerial Megatrends and Financial Control is a new peer-enriched learning course, from David Allen, which takes the learner through the predominant changes in the business environment and how they have impacted on management practice.

Buying a Business follows hot on the heels of Selling a Business by Peter Howson, this course guides learners through each step of buying a business – from their initial decision to acquire a business, through the beginning of negotiations and due diligence up to and including the final integration.

Promoting your Professional Practice by Drayton Bird is the essential guide for any professional in practice. It takes learners through everything they need to think about and do, to improve the way they market themselves, and, ultimately, secure more clients.

If you want to know more, take a look at the course brief in our Partners’ Area.

Watch out for accountingcpd.netAccountingcpd.net

The accounting and finance portfolio has been developing over the last 3 years, and we now have a suite of successful courses for accountants. We know that when your members use our courses the feedback they give is fantastic and although we have lots of successful partners – especially in Scotland and Ireland - there are still tens of thousands of accountants – members of the large institutes in England and Wales - who are unaware of what we offer.

We’re about to change all that. In September, Nelson Croom is launching an exciting new initiative, accountingcpd.net. This new service is designed to promote our courses directly to accountants in England and Wales. We hope that raising awareness of our courses, our authors and our partners (we’ll promote you on our new website!) through this initiative will help you all increase your sales as well as opening up a new channel.

If you want any more information on this initiative and how we can work together to increase sales, please contact us.
